D-Mannose

1. Description

   D-mannose is a natural sugar that is not metabolized by the body and eliminated unchanged from the urine. It has been found to be ten times more effective than a corresponding amount of cranberry fruit in the urinary tract.

   D-mannose supplement contains D-mannose, a simple sugar of natural origin found in abundance in fruits such as cranberry with the Greek name cranberry long fruit.

   Studies support the role of D-mannose in maintaining and supporting a healthy urinary system, inhibiting the adhesion of pathogenic bacteria to the surface of epithelial cells of the urinary tract.

   The cell wall of Escherichia coli bacteria that cause urinary tract infection bring to their surface small protrusions containing complex molecules called lectins. Lectins are responsible for the adhesion of bacteria to the bladder wall which results in the non-removal of these pathogenic bacteria through urine.

5. How to use

   Take 2 capsules (= 1 serving) with a glass of water, three (3) times daily and for a period up to 1 week or according to the doctor's prescription. Alternatively, empty the capsules' content in water, or milk. If therapy is repeated, follow the same instructions for use.
