How to store your supplements

At Natural Doctor, we are very proud to create nutritional supplements, with all vitamins in active forms, nutrients and raw materials of excellent quality, free from chemical additives, colourings, fragrances, added sugar or gmo's.

The packages are filled and sealed in a highly controlled environment, where temperature and humidity are strictly regulated, with continuously filtered air, to ensure all the necessary quality conditions.

How you take care of your supplements after receiving them will ensure they are effective long before expiration. Nutritional supplements are similar to food; they can deteriorate once opened and exposed to sunlight, air, outside temperature and humidity.

Cool and dry place

Our labels state that the product must be stores in a cool and dry place. What does this mean; Humidity is the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere. When nutritional supplements are exposed to damp conditions and absorb moisture, they tend to form lumps or darken the colour of the ingredients.

While this does not affect a supplement's effectiveness, it reduces its lifespan and makes it less visually appealing. The bathroom is not the best storage place due to humidity, even though that's where usually some people keep their medicine cabinet.

Also, the kitchen undergoes more changes in heat and humidity than other rooms. A kitchen cabinet might be a good choice, but ensure it is away from heat sources or the sink.

The pantry or wherever you store spices, baking items, cereals and grains is often a good choice because the conditions required to keep them are similar to those suitable for supplements. Choose a cool, dry place with good air circulation. For some people this place is the bedroom since it is an area where the temperature and airflow are more controlled.

A nightstand drawer, for example, can be a good storage spot for nutritional supplements. The fridge, while cool, has humiditty, so if a nutritional supplement requires refrigeration, then this will be stated on the packaging.

Seal tightly

Do not throw away the small sachets inside the bottle after opening it, especially if you are in a place with high humidity. Desiccants absorb moisture and are essential for protecting ingredients prone to moisture absorption.

When sealed tightly, the recyclable Natural Doctor packaging keeps out light, air, and moisture, so securely close the lid after every use, as this optimizes its protection from the elements.

While special storage boxes can be suitable for organizations, we recommend using them only for travel or transportation rather than long-term storage.
